I think a blog allows for more interaction between a business and their customers. It can also be used as a secondary customer service vehicle as well.

using a blog as content management software for a small business’ website is really more advantageous than the traditional, static web pages.
Interaction between clients and other visitors is more fluid with a blog since a comment or a track back can easily be sent and replied to.
A blog also tends to come across as more personal therefore more appealing to customers

A blog is updated more frequently than a website, and therefore gets indexed more often by search engines. A blog also has easier mechanisms in place to update said content on a frequent basis.

Blog is better than website in many way…the interaction to the customers most of the business people are using blog aswell because this is where the potential buyers ans so easy to reach them there is where customers and money be. It converts very well compare to just a website. Customer can ask questions about the product and services and most of the time get the answer back right away. Customers gets an updated info about the product and services and also a guarantee that it is not a scam because of the reputation of the site (You can tell when it comes with blog).

A blog compliments the website. For example a website sell a product. With the blog, the webmaster can update the user of a latest version of the products or a limited edition or whatever. Blogs will have more fresh contents coz it’s updated more frequently.

A blog gives the readers a chance (like this one) to voice out their sentiments about what they just read .
A blog also has a little personal touch to it. This makes it more attractive to the readers.
TY!

I’ve had both a blog & a website.
When I had the website (and used it as a blog), I did all of the coding myself so it took a lot of time even if I was just saying “I had a bad day today.”
Blogging is so much easier. I do a lot to my blog anyway, because I like doing it, but if I just want to say “I hate wintergreen!” then I can just type & click “post”.
Also, with blogs (depending on where it’s hosted), you can just click “next blog” or join a networking site & find a lot more blogs that you might like. (Or be found by a lot of new readers.) I don’t know if you can do that with a website?

For a visitor, one can easily view the history, it’s a more personal experience, it’s often more up-to-date and *feels* more up-to-date.
There is often more personality. People prefer to deal with people rather than machines… just witness how much you curse when you get one of those answering machines… dial one for accounts, dial two for enquiries blah blah. Arghh! How I hate them.
You feel as if there is a person at the other end of the website rather than a faceless organisation.

A blog is simply more personal than a website. Behind a blog, we can really get to know someone interests, likes and dislikes whereas a blog is more like looking through someone’s window whereas a website is more like a store front.

Blog is a personnel kind of thing , even for a business it allows interaction between your buyers and the company, I think thats the most powerful thing about a blog , You can connect with people.Hope I’ll have my credits now.

A website without a blog is only half way there. It’s like an almanac without a newspaper.
The beautiful thing about blogging for business is that it lets a business stay on top of the latest news, issue, successes and challenges. A website is for reference.
I’ll read a great blog every day. I’ll read a great website only if I’m looking for a particular piece of information.

A blog tells you that there is actually a real PERSON behind the curtain.

In my very recent experience with using blogging software I’ve found that it is easier to update both static and dynamic content pages. It allows easier interaction with readers and authors. Much of the design is done for you (thank you WordPress) so you can concentrate on content. The trackback, linkback and pingback features tie content together across websites, cities, states, countries and continents - making the world a much smaller place to access.
